To compete international companies selling chemical based products in India, Baba Ramdev launched Patanjali Ayurved with the aim of getting pure herbal based, Indian manufactured household products every home. People are now very comfortable to also buy patanjali products online. Among the many other products, 12 types of soaps were launched. One among them being Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap which was launched especially to drive away brands selling scented soaps under “Haldi Chandan” tag. Here is my Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap Review.
Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap Review:
Turmeric and Sandalwood benefits:
Turmeric (or haldi) not only reduces acne and pimples but also reduces oil secretion by sebaceous glands. It also gives a glow to the skin. Due to its exfoliating properties, it also reduces the signs of aging and lightens the stretch marks on the skin. It also reduces skin tanning and its pigmentation.
Sandalwood removes sun tan and its mixture with turmeric powder is used to cure acne and pimples, blackheads and softens the skin.

Packaging & Smell:
Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap comes in yellow and white packaging which all the details like date of manufacturing, expiry date, batch number, production place, key composition etc printed on it.
Unlike most of the other soaps which claim to be genuine but do not smell of sandalwood, the soap has a very sweet smell like that of sandalwood.
The soap is orange in color. A look at their ingredients does mention that some extra color and smell have been added which is probably to make it look and smell better. Once you have a bath with this soap, the smell lasts for about 3 hours.
Sandalwood and turmeric are actually good for fighting against acne, pimples and oily skin and this soap does actually perform quite good on that front. After the bath with this soap, I felt my skin was too dry but I feel it would have been perfectly alright if I had an oily skin.
I found the soap very cheap. It is priced at just Rs. 13 for a 75 gm pack which is quite cheap in comparison to the soaps of other brands (about half the cost).
This soap is highly recommended for those with oily skin. People with dry sky (Patanjali soap for dry skin review here) can use some other Patanjali soap or apply lotion/cream after the bath.
